Mark Ward is an illustrator and artist from South London. Mark's vibrant work is built around his fascination with the sun scorched world he saw beamed through his TV and through the pages of imported American skateboard magazines. In a pre-internet era, Mark's youth was spent collecting snippets of American culture and piecing together a distorted exotic mecca of everything that contrasted so vividly with his grey UK surroundings.

After a visit to America the realisation hit that the nirvana Mark had been sold didn't exist. Mark's work keeps the dream alive and celebrates the misguided excitement of his youth. He uses humour as a tool to connect with the viewer, while at the same time higHeadlinerighting the ridiculous nature of the hype machine.
