Getting Here by Train

There are two direct train lines which operate between London and Southend. The C2C line from Fenchurch Street to Southend Central and the Abellio Greater Anglia from Liverpool Street to Southend Victoria. The journey time on both lines is approximately 45 minutes to 1 hour.

Getting Here by Car:

There are two major roads which link Southend to the M25, the A127 and A13. From the north Southend is accessible via the A1, M11, M25 (Junction 29 – 20 miles) & A127. From the south, Southend can be reached via the M25 (Junction 30) or from the Dartford Tunnel & A13.

Getting Here by Bus:

There is an extensive bus network which operates around Southend and Essex. For all bus information and timetables visit Arriva or First Buses.

Getting Here by Plane:

Southend has four airports that are 120 mins away or less. 

London Southend Airport (Restricted Arrivals and Departure Locations)
Take a Greater Anglia train two stops from Southend Airport Station to Southend Victoria Station or get the Number 7 Bus from the close bus stop on London Road just outside of the Airport.

London Stansted (Wide range of flights)
Take the X30 bus from Stansted airport's bus station to Southend Bus Station
 

London Gatwick (Wide range of flights)

• Board a Thameslink train from Gatwick Airport train station Northbound directly to London Bridge Station.

• Transfer: Change trains at London Bridge. to a Jubilee Line (Grey) train take the train Eastbound to West Ham Station.

• Transfer: Change to a C2C Train at West Ham and travel to Southend Central Station.

 

London Heathrow (Longer distance flights land here)

• Board the eastbound Elizabeth line (Purple) train directly from Heathrow Terminal stations. Stay on this train through central London all the way to Stratford Station

• At Stratford, step off the Elizabeth line and walk over to the National Rail train platforms.

• Catch a Greater Anglia train eastbound for Southend Victoria.
