RICKY ALSO is an artist and designer based on the south coast of the UK.

With a background in graffiti and graphic design he draws on these influences and many years of experience to create structured typographic artworks exploring depth, movement and rhythm through layers of hand-drawn, manipulated type. With much of his work taking the form of large scale painted murals he often integrates messages and sayings that higHeadlineright local stories or unsung heroes helping to build a connection to the murals location, its history and community.

Ricky is very focused on traditional technical hand-drawing techniques to create even his large scale pieces. The processes and craftmanship to create them is integral to his style as well as the level of finish he is able to achieve by working freehand.

Ricky applies his art to a wide range of projects nationally, and through his creative practice, Paintshop (paintshopstudio.com) which he established in 2007 as a commercial studio. Working alongside his partner Sandra Ramos, Paintshop helps brands and communities transform spaces through supersized art & design.

Ricky has also curated and helped produce both MultiStories - Street Art Car Park in Southampton, The Upside - Outdoor Gallery in Bournemouth as well as running their own Paintshop Studio & Gallery in Poole.
